A timeless black-and-white wedding surrounded by gardens, greenery, and natural beauty of our Monroe, Washington farm.
There are weddings we host that feel like family and then there are weddings that are family. On June 27, 2025, Tessa & Austin were married here at Terra Valley Farms, turning a place she knows by heart into the setting for one of the most meaningful days of her life.
If you’ve been around the farm, you know Tessa as the calm presence behind the scenes, she’s the one making timelines work, answering questions, and quietly holding space for other couples. Watching her step into the role of bride, at a place she helps care for day in and day out, felt deeply full-circle for all of us.
Many couples are drawn to Terra Valley Farms for the natural surroundings: the garden setting, the mature cedar and oak trees, and the greenery that frames our outdoor ceremony space. Tessa knows these details not just as a venue manager, but as someone who has spent her days helping couples experience them. Seeing her take in the same setting as a bride, surrounded by the people she loves, made the day especially meaningful for our team.
Just before the ceremony, rain moved through the valley. It was not a downpour, but the familiar kind of Pacific Northwest rain that seems to bring the landscape to life. The garden grew deeper in color, the surrounding greenery looked even more vibrant, and the cedar and oak trees framed the ceremony space against the overcast sky. By the time guests arrived and took their seats, the rain had passed, leaving behind a beautiful, moody backdrop for the celebration.
A Ceremony After the Rain
The ceremony took place beneath the garden gazebo, surrounded by the lush greenery that makes the setting feel so connected to nature. Flowing white drapery softened the gazebo, while white floral arrangements, elevated on pedestals, and candlelit hurricane vases brought an elegant touch to the space. Against the deeper greens of the garden and the mature trees beyond, the all-white flowers stood out beautifully without taking away from the natural surroundings.
Tessa and Austin exchanged vows beneath the overcast sky in a setting that felt both classic and personal. The soft light after the rain, the quiet garden backdrop, and the people gathered around them made the ceremony feel intimate without needing anything overdone.
A Timeless Black-and-White Wedding
Tessa and Austin chose a classic black-and-white palette that felt right at home among the natural surroundings of the farm. Guests were asked to wear black, creating a cohesive look throughout the celebration, while white flowers and greenery carried the design from the ceremony into the reception.
The contrast between the black attire, white florals, and natural greens gave the wedding a timeless feel. Candlelight added another layer of warmth, with candles arranged throughout the celebration to create a soft, romantic atmosphere as the day moved into evening.
Nothing about the day felt overproduced or rushed. Just thoughtful details, genuine connection, and the steady warmth of two people completely at home with one another. As afternoon slipped into evening, the celebration unfolded naturally. Heartfelt toasts, shared meals, and laughter that carried easily across the property. When the dance floor opened, it filled quickly. The kind of night where conversation and celebration blur together, candlelight flickers low, and time moves differently.
A Garden Setting for an Outdoor Wedding
For couples who love the outdoors, the setting of a wedding can be just as meaningful as the details that bring the day together. At Terra Valley Farms, the garden ceremony space is surrounded by greenery, with mature cedar and oak trees adding to the natural landscape. It creates a setting where the surroundings are part of the celebration, rather than simply a backdrop.
Tessa and Austin's wedding brought together the natural beauty of the garden with a more formal design. The white florals and flowing ceremony drapery complemented the greenery, while the overcast Pacific Northwest sky gave the day a soft, romantic atmosphere.

A Full-Circle Kind of Day
For our team, Tessa and Austin's wedding was a reminder of just how meaningful this place can become. Tessa spends her days helping other couples bring their wedding days to life, and choosing Terra Valley Farms for her own celebration made this day especially close to our hearts. The garden, the familiar trees, the people gathered around them, and all the thoughtful details came together to create a celebration that was entirely their own.
Rain and all, it was exactly right.
Congratulations, Tessa & Austin.
We’re so honored the farm could hold such an important chapter of your story.
